Discovery Ski Area Access Road.

Discovery Ski Area Access Road

Civil Engineering, Hydrology, Permitting, Surveying

A new access road on the North side of the Discovery Ski Area has been planned for several years. After completing an Environmental Assessment (EA), the project owner selected Copper Environmental to take the project from planned ideas to completed design within the boundaries set forth in the EA. The project site consisted of a heavily timbered quarter section crossed by Fred Burr Creek.

Copper Environmental designed and permitted a new road across the site and coordinated the innovative design of a bridge to cross Fred Burr Creek while remaining outside the 100-yr floodplain.   Permitting agencies included BLM, Granite County, and the Granite Conservation District. Construction is slated to begin in the Spring of 2015 and Copper Environmental will be providing construction staking and quality assurance services.
